WVR - On November 16, Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a program for Vietnamese labourers working for embasies and international organizations in Hanoi to meet and exchange with Department of Foreign Affairs, People's Committee of Bac Son district, Lang Son province and brief on Vietnam’s salaries policies and regulations.

The program was attended by representatives from Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, Embassies and international organizations in Hanoi. The trip began with a visit to Mo Mam Stream Ecotourism Site in Bac Son District, Lang Son Province, renowned as a natural masterpiece.

With a vast area of ​​up to 10,000 square meters, Mo Mam Stream tourism area is divided into multiple recreational and service areas with a capacity of nearly 200 guests, featuring the Keng Tao Cave which stretches over 400 meters. Participants were impressed by the captivating beauty of Lang Son's nature, with clear streams flowing over rocks, surrounded by lush greenery, creating a fresh and pleasant atmosphere.

Mr. Do Thanh Long, working at the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, shared with the World and Vietnam Report that the trip provided a new perspective on the natural beauty of Lang Son and helped everyone understand more about the local culture and hospitality.

"The nature here is marvelous, I feel a special connection with Bac Son. The scenery of mountains and clear streams creates a stunning picture. I hope Mo Mam Stream Eco-tourism Site will continue to develop sustainably and attract many domestic and international tourists," Mr. Long expressed his impression.

The delegation then visited Bac Son Uprising Museum, a significant site for educating Vietnamese people on revolutionary traditions.

The Museum preserves many valuable artifacts related to the Bac Son Uprising (September 27, 1940), such as daily utensils, combat weapons of Bac Son guerrillas and Central Party officials who operated locally.

At the Museum, the group listened to the tour guide explaining the significance and value of the historical documents and artifacts from the Bac Son Uprising, vividly conveying the memories of the heroic resistance years of our ancestors, stirring patriotism and national pride.

The Bac Son Uprising Museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts wishing to learn about Vietnam's glorious history. It truly connects the past with the present, reminding every Vietnamese of the sacred value of freedom and peace.

In the afternoon, a conference was held to discuss and disseminate new Government salary policies for 2024.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ngo Phuong Nghi, Director General of Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, emphasized that on June 10, 2024, the Department celebrated its 60th anniversary and was honored to receive the First Class Labour Medal. Over the years, the Department has always considered the management of the labour force of the diplomatic corps as its foremost political mission.

In addition to meeting the recruitment needs of diplomatic corps, the Department acts as an intermediary in the labour relations between the diplomatic corps and Vietnamese labourers, ready to advise on regulations and laws for both parties and protect the legitimate rights of labourers.

Mr. Nghi hoped that the labourers, as a special labour force working in the diplomatic environment of countries from all over the world, would serve as a bridge connecting localities and foreign partners with Lang Son, creating cooperation and development opportunities for mutual benefit.

Speaking at the Conference, Ms. Trinh Tuyet Mai, Director of Lang Son Department of External Affairs, affirmed that this program is very important, helping the Department of External Affairs to better understand Service Department for Diplomatic Corps’ efforts to provide the best conditions for Embassies and international organizations in Hanoi to perform their duties in Vietnam across all fields.

Ms. Mai expected that the participation of the guests would serve as a bridge, helping Lang Son gain better access to foreign countries and international partners, in line with the current general spirit of localities promoting foreign affairs and international cooperation.

In an interview with The World and Vietnam Report, Mr. Nguyen Tho Xuong, Head of Office of labour management for Diplomatic Corps, said this event was an opportunity for the Department to update information so that Vietnamese labourers can better understand and comply with Vietnamese law and regulations.

Specifically, the Department disseminated information to Vietnamese labourers about salary policies issued by the Vietnamese Government and applied since July 2024, such as adjusting the general base salary, regional minimum wage, salary level in other countries and especially the adjustment of living allowances for Vietnamese diplomats working abroad at Embassies and international organizations.

The conference helps labourers who are currently working as secretaries, translators, interpreters, human resources - administrative personnel, accountant, etc. at foreign Embassies in Vietnam understand and act accordingly.

Following the conference, an exchange program between representatives of Vietnamese employees at foreign organizations and Lang Son Department of Foreign Affairs took place. The delegation had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Then singing, Vi folk singing and graceful Trau dancing performed by Quynh Son Community Tourism Club.

The elegant Trau dances, along with the gentle, warm and melodious Then singing, distilled from daily life, carried wishes for luck and harmony, leaving a deep impression on the guests.

The clear sound of the Tinh gourd lute blended with the sweet voices of the artists, making the atmosphere intimate and rich in Tay ethnic culture.

Additionally, the delegation enjoyed dishes that embody the essence of Lang Son's mountainous region. Local chefs meticulously prepared dishes such as roasted pork with Mac Mat leaves and black Banh Chung (square sticky rice cake). This event not only affirmed the charm of traditional culture but also opened up many long-term cooperation opportunities, helping to promote the image of Lang Son to international friends.
