On the morning of November 18, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the All India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO) jointly organized the Romesh Chandra Prize Award Ceremony for Nguyen Thi Binh, former Party Central Committee member, former Vice President of Vietnam, and Honourary President of the Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation (now the Vietnam Peace and Development Council), for her significant contributions to the cause of peace and international solidarity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pallab Sengupta, Secretary of the National Council of the Communist Party of India, President of the World Peace Council, and Presidium Member of AIPSO, emphasized that Nguyen Thi Binh is one of the most inspiring figures in the global movement for peace, independence, and social justice. Her name has shone brightly in the heroic history of Vietnam's struggle.
Nguyen Thi Binh was also a chief negotiator for the Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam at the Paris Peace Conference. She demonstrated the courage and dignity of Vietnamese women to the world, voicing not only the aspirations of the Vietnamese people but also for all those who fought against imperialism and for peace.
“Today, AIPSO is honoured to recognize Nguyen Thi Binh for her significant contributions to the cause of peace and international solidarity. On behalf of AIPSO and the peace-loving people of India, I extend my respectful greetings to Nguyen Thi Binh, an outstanding daughter of Vietnam, a global symbol of peace and dignity. Here, we also celebrate the enduring friendship between the people of India and Vietnam, forged from shared struggles and strengthened by mutual respect,” Mr. Pallab Sengupta stated.

Expressing her sincere and profound gratitude to AIPSO, Nguyen Thi Binh stated that this is not only AIPSO's recognition of her personally but also an appreciation and honour for the collective efforts of those involved in people-to-people diplomacy at the Vietnam Peace Committee and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
“I am very honoured and moved to receive the Romesh Chandra Peace Prize, named after the world’s outstanding peace fighter who dedicated his life to the international peace movement, anti-war efforts, promoting justice, and fostering solidarity and friendship among nations. I sincerely thank you, comrades who have always stood by and supported the Vietnamese people in the cause of peace and friendship among nations,” the former Vice President affirmed.

Also on November 18, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and AIPSO organized the Romesh Chandra Prize Award Ceremony for Mr. Uong Chu Luu, former Central Committee member, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, President of the Vietnam Peace Committee; Mr. Tran Dac Loi, former Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Peace Committee, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation (now the Vietnam Peace and Development Council), for their outstanding contributions to building and promoting the peace and international solidarity movement.
