Quang Ninh welcomes delegates to the second Conference of Honorary Consuls of Vietnam

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province Le Van Anh; Vietnamese Ambassadors serving abroad; nearly 30 Honorary Consuls of Vietnam and representatives of Vietnamese missions overseas; as well as representatives of ministries, sectors, local authorities, business associations and enterprises.

In her opening remarks, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang warmly welcomed the delegates, particularly the nearly 30 Honorary Consuls and representatives of Vietnam abroad, describing them as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' "extended arms" and vital bridges of friendship connecting Vietnam with the international community.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that, although Honorary Consuls are not career diplomats, they have consistently supported Vietnam with dedication, credibility and a strong sense of responsibility. Through their extensive networks and influence in their host countries, they have made significant contributions to promoting Vietnam's relations with partner countries while assisting in the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens overseas.

According to Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, the second Conference of Honorary Consuls of Vietnam provides an opportunity to review the achievements of the Honorary Consul network, exchange experiences, and discuss practical measures to further enhance its effectiveness in the coming period. The conference will also enable Honorary Consuls to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Vietnam's development priorities, thereby strengthening their role in promoting cooperation across a wide range of fields.

She expressed confidence that the conference would help establish more regular and effective channels of cooperation between the Honorary Consul network, ministries, sectors, local authorities and the business community, creating new opportunities for partnership and contributing to Vietnam's continued development.

For his part, Vice Chairman Le Van Anh said Quang Ninh was honored to work alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in hosting the welcoming banquet for the second Conference of Honorary Consuls of Vietnam.

He noted that the presence of Honorary Consuls and international delegates was not only a privilege for the province but also an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and deepen ties with Vietnam's longstanding friends around the world.

Highlighting the important contributions of the Honorary Consul network to fostering friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, Mr. Le Van Anh described them as indispensable bridges connecting investment, trade, tourism, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

Introducing Quang Ninh's development potential and competitive advantages, the Vice Chairman said the province possesses exceptional natural, cultural and historical assets, while continuing to improve its investment climate, modernize infrastructure, promote digital transformation, advance green growth and deepen international integration, with the goal of becoming a dynamic growth pole in northern Vietnam.

He expressed his hope that the Honorary Consuls would continue to support Quang Ninh by promoting the province's image abroad, introducing its cooperation potential to international partners and helping expand global partnerships, thereby contributing to the province's sustainable development and to stronger relations between Vietnam and countries around the world.
