The Port of Rotterdam is the busiest seaport in Europe, and the 10th largest in the world. It employs around 500,000 people, and contributes 8% to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
A representative from the Port Authority told Prime Minister Chinh that Vietnam holds potential and could build an international transshipment port. The authority is willing to cooperate with the Southeast Asian country in seaport development, with the method and scale of cooperation to be taken into account.
Prime Minister Chinh said that the development of seaports and maritime transportation is still a new field for Vietnam. Therefore, Vietnam wants to collaborate more with the Netherlands and the Port Authority in this field for win-win cooperation.
