On June 8, following the official welcoming ceremony, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul held talks at the Government Headquarters.

During the talks, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung warmly welcomed the Thai Prime Minister and the Royal Thai Government delegation on their first official visit to Vietnam; expressing delight at meeting the Thai Prime Minister again after the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines.

The Prime Minister expressed thanks to the Thai Royal Family, Government, people, and personally to the Thai Prime Minister and his spouse for their respectful, thoughtful, and cordial reception of General Secretary, President To Lam, his spouse, and the high-level Vietnamese delegation during their recent official visit to Thailand; noting that the visit achieved significant, substantive results, creating new momentum for bilateral relations.

The Thai Prime Minister expressed joy at his first official visit to Vietnam, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations; affirming that Thailand always values and wishes to continue promoting comprehensive, substantive cooperation with Vietnam in all fields.

The Thai Prime Minister hopes both sides will effectively implement the outcomes of General Secretary, President To Lam's official visit to Thailand, including the Action Program to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2026 – 2031 period.

The two Prime Ministers expressed satisfaction with the robust development of Vietnam–Thailand relations over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations (1976 – 2026); assessing that the current bilateral relationship is at its best stage ever, with a solid foundation of political trust, dynamic economic cooperation, and increasingly close people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides agreed to continue enhancing political trust through regular delegation exchanges, high-level contacts, and interactions at all levels across all channels; effectively utilizing existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially the Joint Cabinet Meeting mechanism at the Prime Minister level and ministerial cooperation mechanisms; and closely coordinating to effectively implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming time.

Both sides agreed to strengthen defense and security cooperation; maintain joint maritime patrols; coordinate in combating transnational crimes, especially drug trafficking, human trafficking, and high-tech crimes; and reaffirm the commitment not to allow any individual or organization to use their territory against the other.

In the economic field, the two leaders agreed to effectively implement the "Three Connections" Strategy; promote connectivity in transportation, logistics, aviation, and tourism; study the development of road and coastal waterway transport routes connecting the two countries and the Mekong sub-region; effectively utilize the Vietnam–Thailand Joint Trade Committee mechanism; reduce trade barriers, and facilitate market access for each other's goods; striving to soon achieve a trade turnover target of 25 billion USD and towards 50 billion USD in a balanced and sustainable manner.

Both sides also agreed to promote expanded cooperation in agriculture, ensuring food security, and new areas such as science, technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, digital economy, green economy, just energy transition, and innovation.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that Vietnam always welcomes, encourages, and facilitates foreign investors, including those from Thailand, to invest and do business in Vietnam.

The Thai Prime Minister appreciated Vietnam's investment and business environment; thanked and hoped the Vietnamese Government would continue to pay attention and support in resolving difficulties for Thai businesses operating in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Thai businesses will be encouraged to expand investment in areas of strength that align with Vietnam's development orientation; hoping Vietnamese businesses will increase investment in Thailand; promoting business connectivity, supply chains, and strategic cooperation projects between the two countries.

Both sides agreed to enhance people-to-people exchanges, cultural cooperation, tourism, and local twinning. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung thanked the Thai Government for supporting the Vietnamese community in Thailand, facilitating the preservation and promotion of the value of President Ho Chi Minh's relics and the Vietnamese pagoda system in Thailand; requesting continued favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study, and work stably in Thailand.

The Thai Prime Minister appreciated the significance of cooperation between the two countries in the Red-crowned Crane conservation project at Tram Chim National Park, affirming Thailand's readiness to transfer Red-crowned Cranes from Thailand to Vietnam to preserve biodiversity and sustainable development.

On regional and international issues, the two Prime Ministers agreed to continue close coordination at ASEAN and multilateral mechanisms; emphasizing the importance of maintaining ASEAN unity, solidarity, and centrality; promoting ASEAN's common stance on the East Sea based on international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung appreciated Thailand's role in promoting ACMECS cooperation and sub-regional cooperation mechanisms; proposing both sides coordinate to mobilize resources, enhance infrastructure connectivity, trade, investment, water resource management, climate change response, digital transformation, green transition, and innovation.

The Thai Prime Minister highly agreed with Vietnam's proposals and affirmed continued close coordination to enhance the effectiveness of sub-regional cooperation mechanisms, contributing to sustainable development and common prosperity in the Mekong region.

The two Prime Ministers affirmed their determination to effectively implement the agreements reached, deepening the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, contributing positively to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.

On this occasion, the Thai Prime Minister extended a cordial invitation to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung for an official visit to Thailand. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung thanked and indicated he would arrange to visit Thailand at a suitable time.
