Prime Minister Le Minh Hung leads National steering committee for overcoming post-war consequences

WVR - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung will head the National Steering Committee for Overcoming the Consequences of Post-War Bombs, Mines and Chemical Agents in Viretnam, under a decision signed and promulgated on June 5.

According to the Decision, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung serves as the Head of the Steering Committee.

The Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee are: General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense (Standing Deputy Head); Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan.

The members include: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense (Standing Member); Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Le Cong Thanh; Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan; Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang; Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung; Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Quoc Phuong; Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi; Deputy Minister of Justice Dang Hoang Oanh; Deputy Chief of the Government Office Do Ngoc Huynh; President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son; Colonel Can Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Military Science Department, Ministry of National Defense, Chief of Office 701 (Secretary Member).

This decision is effective from the date of signing.

* The National Steering Committee for Overcoming the Consequences of Post-War Bombs, Mines and Chemical Agents in Vietnam is tasked with researching and proposing to the Prime Minister directions, tasks, and solutions to address significant inter-sectoral issues, mobilizing domestic and international resources to swiftly remediate the aftermath of bombs and chemical toxins post-war in Vietnam.

It will also assist the Prime Minister in directing, co-ordinating and supervising ministries, ministerial-level agencies, Government-attached bodies and provincial People's Committees in carrying out programmes and plans related to the post-war legacy.

In addition, the committee will organise reviews and assessments of progress on key tasks and solutions in this area, and carry out other duties as assigned by the Prime Minister.
