During the meeting, President Luong Cuong warmly welcomed President of the National Assembly Esteban Lazo back to Vietnam, following the state visit by First Secretary and President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez. He highly appreciated the significance of the visit and the working program of the high-level delegation from the Cuban Party and National Assembly. President Luong Cuong expressed confidence that the visit would strengthen the special solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
President Luong Cuong once again thanked Cuban leaders for organizing solemn rallies in Cuba to commemorate Vietnam's major holidays. He noted that the political-diplomatic relations between the two countries, across all Party, State, and People-to-People diplomacy channels, have reached new heights, serving as a model for international relations. The President affirmed Vietnam's leadership's determination to deepen and enhance the effectiveness of cooperation with Cuba in all fields, especially in economic-trade and investment, maximizing the strengths of both sides to match the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship as the two countries commemorate 65 years of diplomatic relations in 2025 (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025).

President of the National Assembly Esteban Lazo expressed solidarity and condolences from the Cuban Party, State, National Assembly, and people to the Vietnamese Party, State, National Assembly, and families affected by the severe damage caused by storms No. 9 and 10. He expressed confidence that the Vietnamese people would soon overcome the aftermath of these natural disasters. The Cuban National Assembly President sincerely thanked Vietnam and President Luong Cuong for the warm, and thoughtful reception given to the Cuban National Assembly delegation. He congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. He expressed confidence that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people would achieve their development goals by 2030 and 2045, fulfilling the nation's aspirations.
Mr. Esteban Lazo was moved by the affection of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for the Cuban people through the "65 Years of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship" support program, considering it a vivid expression of the pure and loyal solidarity and friendship between the two countries. The National Assembly President affirmed that Cuba always cherishes and highly values the solidarity, companionship, sincere support, and practical assistance from the Vietnamese Party, State, National Assembly, and people to Cuba in recent times.

The two leaders expressed appreciation for the exemplary Vietnam-Cuba relationship, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro Ruz, and nurtured by generations of leaders and people from both countries. They noted that the state visit to Cuba by General Secretary and President To Lam in September 2024 and the visit by First Secretary and President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez to Vietnam in early September marked significant milestones for bilateral relations. These visits deepened political trust and opened new directions for bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation. The leaders affirmed their close monitoring and guidance to ensure effective implementation of the commitments, particularly in food security, energy security, biotechnology, and other potential fields.
President Luong Cuong expressed his delight at the development of close cooperative relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries, with high-level visits and important cooperative activities enhancing the depth and effectiveness of the parliamentary relationship. He emphasized the positive and substantive contributions of the two national assemblies to strengthening the special, exemplary, and loyal solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba. He highlighted that the Vietnamese government is ready to share experiences and promote multifaceted cooperation with Cuba, especially in areas of mutual interest, contributing to the stability and development of both countries in the current period. This includes sharing Vietnam's experiences and lessons learned from nearly 40 years of implementing renovation policies and deep international integration.
Cuban National Assembly President Esteban Lazo affirmed that the Cuban National Assembly will continue to work closely to enhance high-level visits and exchanges with the Vietnamese National Assembly, promote cooperation exchanges between localities and the two Friendship Parliamentary Groups, and implement the outcomes of the second session of the Cuba-Vietnam Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. He assured favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises operating in Cuba and emphasized the importance of promoting public awareness and educating the younger generations of both countries to continue the tradition of bilateral relations. The Cuban National Assembly President affirmed that Cuba wishes to learn from Vietnam's experiences in renovation and national development, seeing Vietnam as a model for Cuba and the world, to overcome current challenges and achieve successes similar to Vietnam's.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong conveyed his regards to Revolutionary Leader Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary and President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, and other leaders of the Cuban Party, State, and National Assembly.
In turn, Esteban Lazo Hernandez conveyed the regards of First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel and invited President Luong Cuong to visit Cuba at a convenient time. President Luong Cuong accepted the invitation with pleasure.
