During the talks, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung welcomed Minister Margus Tsahkna and the Estonian business delegation on their official visit to Vietnam, appreciating the first visit by a minister from a European Union (EU) member state right after Vietnam successfully organized the 16th National Assembly elections and consolidated leadership positions.
The visit demonstrates Estonia's commitment and determination to promote multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam. The Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values and seeks to strengthen traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Estonia, an important partner for Vietnam in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung proposed that both sides continue to promote exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level exchanges across all Party, State, National Assembly, and people-to-people channels to enhance understanding, consolidate political trust, and create new momentum for bilateral relations.

Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna affirmed that Estonia values its relationship with Vietnam; expressing deep impressions of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, as well as its increasing role and position in the region and the world.
The Foreign Minister expressed a desire to further enhance cooperation with Vietnam in areas where Estonia has strengths such as science and technology, innovation; and to promote practical cooperation between agencies, localities, universities, and businesses of both countries.
The two Ministers agreed that Vietnam and Estonia have much room and potential for cooperation, especially in the fields of economy-trade, science-technology, defense-security, education-training, and marine economy. In the field of economy-trade, the two Ministers agreed to promote connectivity between the business communities of the two countries, encouraging enterprises to explore markets, exchange information, and seek investment and cooperation opportunities in areas of strength.

The two Foreign Ministers also emphasized the need to facilitate trade promotion activities, partner connections, and expand cooperation in sectors aligned with new development trends. Minister Le Hoai Trung suggested that Estonia actively support and promote the remaining EU member states to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
Both sides highlighted the prospects for cooperation in digital transformation, digital government, cybersecurity, education-training, and information technology. Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung appreciated Estonia's experience and strengths in building e-government, developing digital infrastructure, online public services, and the innovation ecosystem.
The Foreign Minister proposed that Estonia continue to share its experiences and support Vietnam in areas where Estonia has strengths, thereby contributing to promoting the digital transformation process, modernizing public governance, and reducing administrative procedures in Vietnam.

The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. Both sides affirmed their commitment to supporting multilateralism and upholding international law in addressing traditional and non-traditional challenges. They agreed to continue close coordination at multilateral forums, including the United Nations, ASEAN - EU, to contribute to peace, stability, and sustainable development in each region and the world.
