PetroVietnam delegation worked with Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited

On the afternoon of November 22, the delegation of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) led by Mr. Nguyen Hung Dung, Member of the Members' Council of Petrovietnam had a working session with Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited (DQS).

At the meeting, the PetroVietnam delegation carried out supervision mainly focusing on key issues such as financial - accounting administration; investment; governance, internal control and restructuring works.

In the first 10 months of 2022, DQS has fulfilled 41 orders, of which 37 are outside the industry (23 domestic orders and 14 foreign orders), accounting for 90% of the total number of orders. In the plan of the last 2 months of the year, DQS plans to carry out repair work for 14 products, of which 1 product in the industry, 7 products outside the domestic industry and 6 foreign ship products.

DQS continues to closely follow the key tasks of PetroVietnam in the implementation of the 5-year plan for the period of 2021-2025.

Specifically, the unit continues to perform well in providing services inside and outside the industry to improve its reputation/brand, contributing to the development of the shipbuilding and ship repair industry on the basis of using existing infrastructure, additional investment in a number of necessary items to meet the needs of modernizing Vietnam's sea fleet.

Improving the quality of human resources, modernizing and professionalizing production and business activities, ensuring the capacity to build/repair ships with a tonnage of 30,000 DWT or more and means of service for oil and gas exploration and production (FPSO/FSO, JACK UP, SEMISUB...).

DQS actively expands, searches for markets with domestic customers and has achieved some positive results, works and signs contracts with Ship Owners who come to DQS for the first time to repair such as HTK Ship Owner, An Hai Ship Owner, My Dung Ship Owner, Vosco Ship Owner, Thien Minh Duc, Thaco,….

In 2022, DQS's overseas market development has been gradually improved, specifically, it has negotiated and signed repair contracts for 14 orders including Kerkis, Anais, MV Contship Quo, 04 German ships, 02 British ships… In addition, DQS constantly strengthens marketing activities to domestic and foreign ship owners.

In particular, from June 3 to June 10, DQS participated in exhibiting booths at the international maritime exhibition Posidoina 2022 (Greece). During the exhibition, DQS has met many ship owners around the world from Greece, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom… It is expected that by the end of 2022, DQS will welcome and work with ship owners come to the factory to work and have cooperation agreements in the near future.

In order to complete the task, in the last months of the year, DQS continues to closely follow the direction of the Government and Petrovietnam in carrying out the restructuring, clearly analyzing the done/undone contents, causes, solutions and proposals to PetroVietnam on mechanisms and resources to implement specific implementation plans and roadmaps.
