Permanent Deputy FM Nguyen Minh Vu: Review and accelerate preparations for Vietnam APEC Year 2027
WVR - On the afternoon of August 14, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, who is also the Head of the APEC 2027 National Secretariat, chaired a meeting with the Standing Members of the Subcommittees under the National Committee for APEC 2027 to review the progress of preparations for Vietnam APEC Year 2027 and the fourth meeting of the National Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu emphasised that APEC Year 2027 is one of the country's important multilateral foreign affairs tasks. It is an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam's land, people, and culture, enhance the national role and position, and align with development and international integration goals.

The Permanent Deputy Minister praised the proactive and positive spirit and efforts of the Secretariat and the Subcommittees in recent times. He urged them to continue this spirit and accelerate the progress of tasks in the coming period.
Particularly, given the limited preparation time remaining, the Subcommittees need to closely coordinate and implement tasks comprehensively. They should focus on reviewing completed tasks and those that need to be completed from now until the fourth meeting of the National Committee. They should also promptly report any difficulties, obstacles, and issues requiring guidance and direction.
At the meeting, the Subcommittees reported on the progress of key tasks. The Content Subcommittee and the Secretariat focused on finalizing Vietnam's content, priorities, and initiatives. The Subcommittees on Communication and Culture, Protocol, Material and Logistics, Security, and Health updated on preparations in their respective areas, ensuring coordinated organization of activities for APEC Year 2027.

Representatives of the Subcommittees also discussed and clarified difficulties and obstacles encountered during implementation, issues requiring further coordination, and proposed recommendations and solutions. This helps identify the content that needs to be reported and seek opinions from the National Committee at the fourth meeting.
Concluding the meeting, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu requested the Secretariat and the Subcommittees to continue proactively and decisively implementing assigned tasks. They should enhance coordination among agencies, promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles, and ensure the progress and quality of preparations for Vietnam APEC Year 2027.
