WVR - On July 27, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu held a meeting with the APEC Secretariat in Singapore regarding preparations for APEC Year 2027.

During the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu emphasised the significant role of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in promoting dialogue and cooperation towards high-quality economic growth in the region.
Hosting APEC Year 2027 will be one of Vietnam's most important diplomatic events by 2030, demonstrating Vietnam's proactive and positive spirit in contributing to the collective effort to build a resilient and prosperous Asia-Pacific community.
The Permanent Deputy Minister shared that Vietnam is accelerating preparations in all aspects for APEC Year 2027, including content, themes, priorities, as well as organizational and logistical matters.
Vietnam has identified APEC Year 2027 as a continuation and enhancement of APEC's existing agendas, while also creating Vietnam's unique mark to further promote APEC cooperation, reflecting the priorities and concerns of its members amid profound global and regional transformations.
The Permanent Deputy Minister appreciated the role, support, and effective assistance of the International APEC Secretariat for Vietnam over the past period, particularly their contributions to the research and development of the APEC Year 2027 agenda, as well as organizing capacity-building activities for Vietnamese personnel.

In discussions, Mr. Carlos Kuriyama, Director of the Policy Support Unit (PSU) at the APEC Secretariat, assessed that Vietnam's preparations for APEC Year 2027 demonstrate thoroughness and high determination.
He expressed confidence that, with the experience of hosting APEC Years 2006 and 2017, Vietnam will successfully organize APEC Year 2027, achieving substantial results and contributing to the realization of APEC Vision 2040.
He and the Secretariat are committed to continuing to work closely with Vietnam, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the preparation and organization of APEC Year 2027 in the coming period.
During the visit to Singapore, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu also held meetings with Standing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Luke Goh and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Jane Lim to enhance coordination between Vietnam and Singapore for APEC Year 2027.
