One more British national confirmed contracting COVID-19, total rises to 33

A British national, aged 58, became the 33rd COVID-19 patient in Vietnam, bringing the total  to 33, the Ministry of Health has just confirmed.

The man was on the same plane with Ha Noi’s first COVID-19 patient, named Nguyen Hong Nhung, who returned to Vietnam from the UK on March 2.

After arriving in Ha Noi, he travelled to the ancient city of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam.

He is one of the 10 British nationals confirmed having the virus after being in the same plane with Nhung.

As of 3 pm on Tuesday, the number of COVID-19 patients on the flight VN0054 increased to 15, including 10 British nationals and one from Ireland, according to the Ministry of Health.

Of the total patients confirmed so far in Vietnam, 16 had been cleared of the virus and exited hospitals.
