No reports of Vietnamese citizens affected by earthquake in Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture
WVR - At approximately 4:27 PM on July 28, an earthquake with a magnitude of about 7 on the Richter scale struck Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, causing casualties and damage in the area.

Immediately following the earthquake, under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Representative Missions in Japan promptly contacted local authorities through the International Committee of Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Oita, and Miyazaki Prefectures, as well as Vietnamese associations in the affected areas, to assess the situation and prepare timely protective measures for Vietnamese citizens impacted by the earthquake.
So far, there have been no reports of Vietnamese citizens injured or killed.
Through Vietnamese associations, particularly in Kumamoto Prefecture (Uki City and Hikawa Town, the epicenter of the earthquake), the Vietnamese Representative Missions in Japan have extended their condolences and encouraged the community to remain calm, strictly adhere to and comply with local government instructions on evacuating from dangerous areas. They are also maintaining close contact with local authorities to promptly address issues related to Vietnamese citizens.
