To date, preparations for the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term have been comprehensively and meticulously implemented by the National Election Council, central agencies, and local authorities. These preparations are fundamentally complete and ready for Election Day.
Following the nationwide online conference on election implementation, central and local agencies have intensified leadership, direction, and coordination to carry out tasks according to the prescribed timeline.
At the central level, agencies have issued all 27 documents and materials needed for the election. The National Election Council has also issued 31 resolutions, 46 guidance documents, 8 implementation plans, and 6 urging documents to promptly address challenges during the process.
Locally, provinces and cities have issued 6,636 directives, organized professional training, prepared facilities, and ensured security, order, and healthcare for the election. Nationwide, 34 provincial election committees, 3,320 communal election committees, 182 National Assembly election boards, 724 provincial People's Council election boards, 22,401 communal People's Council election boards, and 72,191 election teams have been established.

Regarding personnel, the National Election Council has announced the official list of 864 candidates for the 16th National Assembly across 182 electoral units, including 217 candidates introduced by the central level and 647 by local levels, ensuring compliance with structural and compositional regulations.
The candidate-to-delegate ratio is 1.73 times. The candidate structure largely meets the requirements for social representation, with women making up 45.37%, individuals under 40 years old 21.64%, and ethnic minorities 21.76%.
For provincial People's Councils, 4,217 candidates are running to elect 2,552 delegates; for communal People's Councils, 120,873 candidates are running to elect 72,611 delegates.
According to local reports, 78,928,647 voters nationwide will cast their votes at 72,195 polling stations. The voter list has been publicly posted and will continue to be updated until 24 hours before Election Day.
Public communication efforts and voter engagement activities have been widely implemented, helping voters understand their rights and responsibilities. Additionally, functional forces have developed plans to ensure security and order, ready to handle any arising situations.
With thorough preparations from all levels and sectors and the attention of voters nationwide, Election Day on March 15 is expected to proceed smoothly, truly becoming a grand national event.
