MOFA European Department holds thematic session 'Following President Ho Chi Minh's footsteps in the UK and Germany'

WVR - As part of the thematic activities for the fourth quarter of 2025, the Party Cell of the European Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), co-hosted with the Party Committees of the Vietnamese Embassies in the UK and Germany, organized a thematic session titled "Following President Ho Chi Minh's Footsteps in the UK and Germany".

The thematic session was attended by all Party members of the Party Cell and representatives from several subordinate Party cells of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The session began with a short documentary introducing President Ho Chi Minh's journey of living, working, and revolutionary activities in the UK and Germany, highlighting significant milestones in the formation of his revolutionary ideology, national independence aspirations, and pure international spirit.

In his opening remarks, Bui Ha Nam, Secretary of the European Department's Party Cell, emphasized the special significance of President Ho Chi Minh's activities in the UK and Germany, major industrial, cultural, and ideological centers of early 20th-century Europe.

This was a period when he directly experienced the life of the working class, engaged with progressive movements, and gradually prepared ideologically and organizationally for Vietnam's path to national liberation.

In line with Directive 05-CT/TW and Conclusion 01-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to promote learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, the European Department's Party Cell identified organizing the thematic series "Following President Ho Chi Minh's Footsteps in Europe" as a key focus, contributing to building a diplomatic corps that is politically steadfast, professionally competent, and exemplary in ethics and lifestyle.

During the thematic session, presentations by the European Department's Party Cell and the Party Committees in the UK and Germany were conducted seriously and in-depth, focusing on clarifying the historical context, significant milestones associated with President Ho Chi Minh's time in the UK and Germany, and valuable lessons applicable to current foreign affairs, especially amid deep international integration and global and regional fluctuations.

The presentations and discussions attracted the attention of participating Party members, creating a positive discussion atmosphere, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the thematic session.

In his closing remarks, Secretary Bui Ha Nam highly appreciated the serious and responsible participation of the Party members. He affirmed that the European Department's Party Cell would continue to innovate the content and form of thematic activities, contributing to improving the quality of Party work, successfully implementing the Resolution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, and moving towards the 14th National Party Congress.
