The three initiatives include ASEAN Co-Production Roundtable, Green and Sustainable Filming Framework and Youth Storytelling Lab. These initiatives seek to foster inclusive growth and prepare ASEAN’s youth for the future.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Film and Television Summit 2025, held in conjunction with the 8th Malaysia International Film Festival, Teo Nie Ching affirmed that these efforts reflect Malaysia’s commitment to making the regional creative industry more vibrant, future-ready, and people-centered.

Amid the many new global challenges we face, it is these shared stories that will connect, inspire, and move ASEAN forward.

The summit will run until July 25, concluding with the Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA), which honors outstanding cinematic works.
