The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province was established under Decision No. 28/2008/QD-UBND dated March 18, 2008 of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, as a specialized agency under the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, with the task to making advisory proposals and assist the Provincial People's Committee in performing state management functions on culture, sports and tourism.
In the context of difficulties and challenges facing by the world and domestic economies, with the spirit of solidarity and aspiration to overcome difficulties, under the timely and close direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the People’s Council and People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province have made efforts to fully implement the adopted work plan, and at the same time proactively and responsibly carry out unexpected tasks, achieved many important results in all fields. The Department has proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Bac Ninh province to promulgate important mechanisms and policies to create motivation for the development of all fields under the Department’s management; develop and submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee for approval of projects, plans and policies under the management responsibility of the sector to ensure the quality of these documents and closely follow-up of the socio-economic development tasks of the province.

The Department has successfully organized many cultural and sports events to serve the province's political tasks, and successfully coordinated to organize other major cultural and sports events, contributing to the promotion of culture, tourism and image of Bac Ninh people to domestic and international tourists; focus on directing and strengthening comprehensive State management in all fields of culture, sports and Tourism.
The Department has directed the organization of the Ceremony to receive the National Treasure Recognition Certificate for artifacts recognized by the Prime Minister in the 11th round, in 2022, in association with organization of the Festival "Visiting Quan Ho Region in 2023"; prepare document for Woodblock artifacts at Dau pagoda, making report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for submitting to the Prime Minister for the recognition of national treasures in the 12th round in 2023; implement the renovation and conservation plan in 2023.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province successfully organized the Festival "Visiting Quan Ho region 2023" with nearly 30 rich and attractive cultural, sports and tourist activities, attracting a large audience as a large number of domestic and international tourists had come to Bac Ninh. The Department has implemented cultural diplomacy and cultural foreign affairs tasks to promote the image of land and people, culture, tourism, investment environment and policies of Bac Ninh province to various international organizations, foreign businesses and localities from other countries such as Japan, Republic of Korea, India, China, etc, as well as a large number of domestic tourists and overseas Vietnamese abroad. The Department has also organized activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - 2023), notably the art program "Cultural colors of Vietnam - Japan”.

In addition, the Culture sector has made efforts in carrying out many practical activities to promote the preservation and promotion of cultural values, such as coordinating with authorities at all levels, departments and unions to develop the movement “All people unite to build cultural lifestyle” in association with the National Target Program on building new rural areas; instruct localities to register to build 72 typical cultural residential area models in all 8/8 districts, town and city; research solutions to develop key tourism markets in Bac Ninh province; provide information and actively coordinate with departments, branches, localities and businesses to develop specific tourism products of the province; implement the inventory of intangible cultural heritage in the province.
The Department successfully hosted Round 1 of the 2023 National Volleyball Championship; collaborating with the Vietnam Tennis Federation and Hanaka Group Joint Stock Company to successfully organize the Davis Cup International Men's Team Tennis Tournament, World Group II Play-offs in 2023. The Department’s Sports Training and Competition Center sent delegations to participate in international sports tournaments, achieving 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 6 bronze medals; sent 37 delegations to compete in national sports tournaments, achieving 43 gold medals, 69 silver medals, and 87 bronze medals; successfully organized 4 provincial level competitions. Provincial Volleyball Training Center has participated in Round I of the 2023 Duc Giang Chemical Cup National Volleyball Championship, from February 24 to March 5, 2023 in Bac Ninh province; ranked 4th in Group A. In particular, there were 6 athletes of Bac Ninh province in the Vietnamese Sports Delegation attending SEA Games 32, resulting in 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 3 bronze medals.

The Department also issued implementation plans on family work, with the Movement “All people unite to build cultural lifestyle”, to maintain civilized lifestyle, cultural institutions and new rural areas in the province and successfully organized a meeting to praise outstanding families in Bac Ninh province in 2023.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province also has a particularly outstanding contribution in organizing cultural activities, promoting tourism, and bringing Bac Ninh closer to international investors, thus making them desire to do long-term business with Kinh Bac land. Thanks to that, foreign investment capital (FDI) into Bac Ninh is constantly increasing. From the beginning of the year to October 20, 2023, the whole province has attracted 308 newly registered FDI projects, an increase of 218 projects over the same period.
In the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province will continue to advise the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee on policies and guidelines for developing Culture, Sports, Tourism and Family of the province; Implementing Plan No. 581/KH-UBND dated December 30, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee on Implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TU dated August 29, 2022 of the 20th Provincial Party Executive Committee on construction and develop culture and people of Bac Ninh until 2030 to meet the requirements of sustainable development; Preserve and promote the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, associated with developing tourism to become a key economic sector; implementing the Provincial People's Committee's Plan on the Movement Program "All people unite to build cultural lifestyle" for the period 2021 - 2026 in Bac Ninh province; Deploying the Provincial People's Committee's Plan to implement Decision No. - Improving the quality and effectiveness of the movement “All people unite to build cultural lifestyle”, the campaign "Building new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; Implementing the Project "Development of high performance sports in Bac Ninh province for the period 2021 - 2025, with orientation to 2030"; Build a number of new products, upgrade existing tourism products and services; Diversify promotion and advertisement of tourism; continue to effectively implement Decision No. 406/QD-UBND dated September 19, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee approving the Project "Promoting the value of cultural heritage associated with tourism development in Bac Ninh province in the period 2021-2025, orientation 2030”.
