The event was marked by the unveiling of the commemorative logo, a harmonious blend of ASEAN's rice bundle symbol and the UK's national flag, symbolizing the dynamic, modern, and increasingly cohesive cooperation between the two sides.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Seema Malhotra praised the ASEAN-UK relationship over the past five years, affirming that the UK continues to prioritize ASEAN in its foreign and economic policies, supporting ASEAN as a growth driver in the Indo-Pacific region.

She emphasized that the UK consistently supports ASEAN's leading role in regional architecture, as it is the foundation for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region – increasingly important amid the current geopolitical landscape.
Minister Seema Malhotra noted that ASEAN-UK trade reached £60 billion in the year up to September 2025 and is growing robustly, reflecting “a partnership delivering tangible results”.

She expressed hope to hear ASEAN's priorities to identify areas where the UK can contribute more effectively, forming the basis for future cooperation. The Minister also reaffirmed the UK's commitment to the region, not just in words but through concrete and substantive actions.
As the coordinating country, Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong noted that recent high-level visits and engagements by the UK with the region reflect the UK's strong commitment to ASEAN, especially significant amid regional and global volatility.

The Ambassador highlighted the deep-rooted ties between ASEAN countries and the UK, extending beyond the current 5-year Dialogue Partnership. She affirmed that two key outcomes ASEAN and the UK are aiming for this year – the ASEAN-UK Action Plan 2027–2031 and the Joint Ministerial Statement on cooperation within the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) – will shape future cooperation in a practical and concrete manner.

The Ambassador also recalled General Secretary To Lam's remarks during his official visit to the UK in 2024, affirming Vietnam's view of the UK as a long-term strategic partner, shaping cooperation norms for the 21st century. Based on this, she reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment, as the coordinating country, to fully contribute to advancing ASEAN-UK relations.
Other ASEAN countries acknowledged and appreciated the UK's earnestness in implementing the Dialogue Partnership, noting that achievements over the past five years clearly demonstrate the UK's commitment and efforts towards the region.

Countries urged the UK to continue enhancing cooperation in areas such as maritime, women's empowerment, WPS, economic integration, education, disaster management, youth, sustainable development, AI, while closely coordinating with ASEAN specialized agencies and ensuring equal opportunities for all member states.
Immediately following the logo launch, a discussion on women, peace, and security took place, kicking off activities for the 5th anniversary of the ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership, attended by former Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa.
