Deputy FM Nguyen Minh Hang attends ceremony marking 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates in Hanoi

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Vietnam Bader Almatrooshi, along with many domestic and international delegates.

In his opening remarks, UAE Ambassador to Vietnam Bader Almatrooshi emphasized that today's event honors the impressive development journey of the Middle Eastern nation – a journey initiated with insightful vision and steadfast determination.

“The unified federation has become a model of construction and development, placing people at the center, shaping a strong present and laying a solid foundation for the future,” stated Ambassador Almatrooshi.

Moreover, the Ambassador affirmed that over the past decades, the UAE has witnessed a robust transformation across various fields, from economic diversification to space exploration, clean energy, and artificial intelligence.

Participation in the G20, becoming a BRICS member, and expanding Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA) also demonstrate the UAE's positive and constructive presence on the international stage.

The diplomat also expressed delight at the excellent relationship between Vietnam and the UAE. Accordingly, bilateral trade turnover increased by 50% during 2023-2024, reaching 12 billion USD. Specifically, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports to the UAE by the end of Q3 2025 rose by 49% compared to the same period last year.

Ambassador Almatrooshi highlighted that the strong relationship between the UAE and Vietnam is being vigorously supported by both governments and the private sector, aiming to realize the strategic vision of the two countries' leaders in the future.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang extended the sincerest congratulations to Ambassador Bader Almatrooshi and all UAE friends working and living in Vietnam on this important occasion.

“The remarkable achievements that the UAE has attained over the past 54 years, under the leadership of President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with pioneering efforts in economic diversification, innovation, artificial intelligence, clean energy, and sustainable development, have not only marked a strong transformation for the UAE but also become a significant inspiration for countries like Vietnam, especially in the current context of economic transition and development,” the Deputy Minister affirmed.

Additionally, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed confidence that the achievements of recent times will continue to strengthen the close friendship and relationship between Vietnam and the UAE. According to the Deputy Minister, the bilateral relationship is deepening thanks to enhanced political trust and strategic understanding, reinforced through over 50 high-level visits in 2024.

Economic cooperation is also expanding vigorously, with the UAE continuing to be a leading economic partner and the largest export market for Vietnam in the region.

“The UAE is not only an important economic partner but also a sincere and reliable friend of Vietnam, sharing common aspirations for peace, cooperation, and prosperity. Cooperative activities have never been as dynamic, substantive, and extensive as they are now, across fields from trade, investment, defense, security to people-to-people exchanges,” the Deputy Minister further shared.

Within the framework of the event, guests had the opportunity to look back on the 54-year journey of formation and development of the Gulf nation; enjoy a performance of Al-Ayyala folk art, a popular and distinctive performing art recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, performed by Vietnamese students.

Additionally, the UAE Embassy in Vietnam introduced a video showcasing the beauty of the S-shaped country through the lens of artists from the Middle Eastern nation. The activities at the ceremony reflected the spirit of cultural exchange and the close friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

The ceremony took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere; thereby contributing to enhancing understanding, connection, and opening up expectations for an increasingly extensive, effective, and sustainable cooperation journey between Vietnam and the UAE in the future.
