Kicked off the Contest on understanding the sea, islands and Law on Vietnam Coast Guard

WVR - The Contest is an opportunity to spread the information and deepen the patriotism in Quang Nam’s teachers, students regarding the Fatherland’s sacred sea and islands.

On November 6th, at Nui Thanh High School, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, the 2nd Regional Command launched the Contest on understanding the sea, islands and Law on Vietnam Coast Guard and the National book day 2023. It is held from November 6th - 13th, with the participation of over 1.500 students.

Spoke at the Launching ceremony, Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of the 2nd Regional Command, said: “The Contest happens at a meaningful time, when the nation is excitingly hosting substantial activities to support the Vietnam Law Day (November 9th) and Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20th)”.

According to Colonel Que, the Contest not only creates a healthy, beneficial playground for students, but also serves as an opportunity to spread the information about the country’s sea and islands within teachers and students; the Government’s related documents; the function and mission of Vietnam Coast Guard; drugs, school violence’s negative effects and methods to prevent those.

The Contest also serves to promote knowledge as well as the reading culture for students, therefore increases their understanding, patriotism and nationalism toward the country’s sacred sea and islands; stresses the responsibility of citizens, especially of younger generations, in the construction and defense of territorial integrity of the Fatherland’s sacred sea and islands’.

According to the Guideline, each participating student writes a neatly presented, 1.500 words or more, Vietnamese essay. Each class has preliminary ranking to pick 10 articles for the final round. On November 13th, the Organizer held a closing ceremony and give out award to groups, individuals of high standing.
