Maximising resources and potentials of overseas Vietnamese community: Linking localitities and businesses

The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Hai Phong City People’s Committee, organizes a Conference on Maximising the resources and potentials of the overseas Vietnamese community: Linking localitities and businesses from December 26-28, 2023.

Based on the spirit of the 13th National Party Congress Resolution, the Conference, which is being held at the Hai Phong Conference Center, aims to further broaden and intensify the SCOV’s work, thereby promoting overseas Vietnamese community’ tremendous resources and patriotic spirit towards homeland.

Approximately 300 delegates are anticipated to attend the Conference, including heads of ministries, sectors, central-level agencies, and localities; representatives of overseas Vietnamese, intelligentsia, entrepreneurs, influential people, young overseas Vietnamese all over the world; ambassadors and chiefs of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad; experts, scholars, and journalists.

The main conference will take place on December 27, including an opening session and three topical discussion sessions on practical concerns, such as green investment, human resources development, and supply chain growth.

Attending the Conference will provide delegates with the opportunity to engage in a discussion forum on the role that the SCOV plays in the locality and country, especially in the fields of economics, trade, science and technology, innovation, sustainable growth, and accessing new supply chains.

The Conference is also a chance to connect with businesses, intellectuals, and experts both domestically and internationally, as well as find opportunities for trade, investment, technology transformation, innovation. In addition, it provides a retrospective of the 20-year process of implementing the Politburo’s Resolution 36-NQ/TW, dated March 26, 2004 on overseas Vietnamese affairs.

Following the Conference, the 6th SOCV World Golf Championships will be held at Vinpearl Golf Hai Phong.
