Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a notice to Embassies, International organizations and foreign organizations in Vietnam as well as local foreign affairs agencies, businesses and individuals regarding the transfer of charity money from the International Food Festival to the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The notice dated September 30 highlights that Typhoon No. 3 (also known as Super Typhoon Yagi) recently struck northern provinces of Vietnam with immense strength, causing significant destruction, resulting in hundreds of deaths and missing persons; thousands of injuries; and property damage estimated at tens of trillions of dong...
On this occasion, Service Department for Diplomatic Corps transferred the entire balance of the International Food Festival charity bank account managed by the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps to the Vietnam Fatherland Front. This includes contributions from embassies, international organizations and foreign organizations in Vietnam as well as local foreign affairs agencies, businesses and individuals. As of August 30, 2024, the balance stands at 726 million dong from the 2022 and 2023 International Food Festival events.
Service Department for Diplomatic Corps expresses gratitude for the compassionate gestures, encouragement and support from countries, organizations and international friends, including foreign representatives in Vietnam, to help the Vietnamese people overcome this disaster.
It is known that the International Food Festival Program is organized annually by Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with embassies and international organizations in Vietnam at the end of the year. This event is one of the prominent cultural, culinary and charity exchange activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, featuring participation from ambassadors, spouses, representatives of international organizations and many provinces and cities across the country.
The event serves as an opportunity for cultural and culinary connection between nations and Vietnam, allowing Vietnam to showcase its beautiful landscapes and people, along with regional specialties, to international friends while promoting meaningful humanitarian activities. To date, all charity contributions from the International Food Festival Program have been donated to support the disabled, orphans, impoverished women and those in particularly difficult circumstances throughout the country.
