The award recognizes Herbalife Vietnam's significant contributions to improving the daily nutrition of over 2,000 people in need through the company's long-term Casa Herbalife Vietnam Program. This marks the first time Herbalife Vietnam has won this prestigious award.
The Food Hero Award aims to acknowledge and celebrate individuals and organizations for their exceptional and ongoing efforts to reduce food waste, support community food initiatives, and promote food security and nutrition for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. The award consists of three main categories: Lifetime achievements, Outstanding achievements and Creating social impact.
The "Social impact award" honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated excellence, persistent and long-term efforts in sharing and providing food relief to disadvantaged people in need in society, thereby contributing to solving the hunger problem and improving the community's health.
Launched for the first time in Vietnam in 2013, Casa Herbalife Vietnam has expanded to 10 centers nationwide. By September 2024, Casa Herbalife Vietnam had provided over 950,000 USD (equivalent to 24 billion VND) grants to help improve the daily nutrition of underprivileged individuals receiving care at these Casa Herbalife partners.
In addition to financial support, Herbalife Vietnam has introduced practical programs such as the Star program and Nutrition day to offer essential knowledge about healthy nutrition and encourage regular exercise routines for children in need.
"We are delighted our Casa Herbalife Program has made effective contributions to creating positive social impacts over the past several years and been recognised by related stakeholders and the wider public. This program aligns with our global corporate social responsibility priorities and is a part of our unwavering commitment to nourish the health and well-being of people in Vietnam", said Mr. Vu Van Thang, General Manager for Herbalife Vietnam and Cambodia.
"I would like to attribute this proud recognition to our Independent members and employees, who are the core of our Casa Herbalife Program and other CSR initiatives through their generous donations and kind-heartedness," added Mr. Thang.
The Food Hero Awards 2024, which commemorate the 44th anniversary of World Food Day, are organized by the Association for Food Transparency (AFT) and the Food Share Sustainable Food Development Network.
Twenty individuals and organizations with outstanding, groundbreaking, and exemplary start-up ideas, initiatives, solutions, models, and social projects related to food were recognized at the honor ceremony under 3 main categories: Lifetime achievements, Outstanding achievements, and Creating social impact.
