The World Travel Awards has just announced the list of the top 10 best opera houses in the world on its website 10best. Among them, Ho Guom Opera (Hanoi) is the only representative of Vietnam featured on the list by tourism experts of the World Travel Awards.
The site is a culturally iconic structure of Hanoi. Ho Guom Opera was inaugurated on July 9, 2023, at the intersection of four major streets in central Hanoi, only a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake.
The theatre was invested in and built by the Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi City and completed in just 22 months.
It features a large auditorium with a 900-guest capacity and a smaller hall accommodating 500 guests.

In addition to the Ho Guom Opera of Vietnam, the list includes Wiener Staatsoper and Teatro di San Carlo of Italy, the Metropolitan Opera of the US, Opéra de Paris of France, Teatro Alla Scala of Italy, the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the Royal Opera House of the UK, Sydney Opera House of Australia, and Teatro Colón of Argentina.
Each opera house features a beacon of cultural heritage and architectural brilliance. From the historic walls echoing timeless arias to the modern stages where innovation meets tradition, these opera houses are not just venues for performances; instead, they are sanctuaries of art and music, 10best reported.
The recognition by world tourism experts has contributed to strengthening the position of the Theater and honouring the contributions of Vietnam and Hanoi to the field of global culture.
