The festival has been held in Vietnam for over 30 years, becoming a lively and highly anticipated event, strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and Germany.

The "GBA Oktoberfest" is the largest annual cultural event organised in Vietnam by the German Business Association (GBA) in collaboration with the German Industry and Commerce Chamber in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) and JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the organisers, last year’s festival attracted more than 10,500 attendees, affirming its position as the largest German festival in Southeast Asia. Hanoi’s Oktoberfest 2024 will take place over three nights from September 26 to 28, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi.

Speaking at the event’s press conference, Vice Chairman of the German Business Association in Vietnam (GBA), Torben Minko, emphasised that 2025 will mark 50 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany. This bilateral strategic partnership has increasingly strengthened across all fields, with cultural, economic, trade, and investment connections and cooperation as key objectives. The festival is a cultural event for German and Vietnamese businesses and organisations to explore cooperation opportunities in various sectors.

Accordingly, this year's Oktoberfest will continue to bring the lively festival atmosphere of Bavaria with performances by the famous O’zapft Band from Germany and Austria, along with various entertainment activities, such as folk dancing, traditional games, and raffle draws.

After Hanoi, Oktoberfest 2024 will take place in Da Nang on October 4 and in Ho Chi Minh City from October 10-12.
