Foreign Ministry: Nearly 250 Vietnamese citizens repatriated home from Malaysia
More and more Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19 will be brought home under the Prime Minister's recent instructions.

Passengers onboard the repatriation flight were minors under 18, the elderly, sick people, pregnant women, guest workers with expired labor contracts, students without accommodation, and other special cases.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia sent staff to assist the citizens with necessary procedures before their departure.

VietJet Air carried out necessary epidemiological measures during the flight to prevent the possible spread of the virus.

All passengers were also examined and quarantined according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control as soon as the plane landed at Can Tho International Airport in southern Vietnam.

Vietnamese authorities are arranging more repatriation flights to bring home more Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas in accordance with the epidemic situation and isolation capacity in the country.
