During a reception in Ha Noi on October 19 for Romanian Ambassador to Viet Nam Cristina Romila, Son thanked Romania for providing active and effective support for Viet Nam to promote the signing of the European Union-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

He hailed Romania as one of the first three EU member states to approve the EVFTA and suggested both sides work closely together to effectively realise the deal for the benefit of both countries.

Son also thanked the Romanian Government and people for donating 300,000 AstraZeneca doses and staying ready to transfer a large number of vaccines in non-commercial principles to Viet Nam.

Romila, for her part, affirmed that in her position, she and the Romanian Embassy in Ha Noi will serve as a bridge to foster bilateral friendship and collaboration as desired by the two countries leaders.
