Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung: Vietnam always values cooperation with the Francophone Community

During the talks, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung shared the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and highlighted significant achievements in socio-economic development as well as Vietnam's development orientations in the new era, including its foreign policy direction in the coming period.
The Foreign Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values cooperation with the Francophone Community and expressed delight at the continued strengthening of Vietnam-Francophone relations.
Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung highly appreciated the role and contributions of the Francophonie and emphasized that as an active and responsible member of the Francophone Community, Vietnam will continue to contribute to the collective efforts of the Francophone Community to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development among member countries and globally.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and OIF Secretary-General discussed the priorities of the Francophone Community in the near future and measures to further promote Vietnam-Francophone cooperation.
The Minister suggested that the International Organization of La Francophonie strengthen its economic cooperation pillar, including supporting the promotion of cooperation between Vietnam and Francophone members in science and technology, digital transformation, culture, education, cooperation with African Francophone countries, and reinforcing French language teaching in Vietnam. Vietnam is ready to promote bilateral and trilateral cooperation with Francophone member countries.
OIF Secretary-General Louise Mushikiwabo congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements and international integration, and appreciated Vietnam's active role and contributions in Francophone Community activities.

Assessing the international situation in general and within the Francophonie space in particular, as well as the challenges facing multilateralism, the Francophonie Secretary-General affirmed that she will work with Vietnam and other member countries to enhance cooperation and solidarity to promote peace, stability, cooperation, and prosperity.
The Secretary-General affirmed her commitment to furthering cooperation with Vietnam, especially in education, training, sustainable economic development, economic cooperation, and trade with African countries, and expressed a desire for more Vietnamese personnel to work at the OIF.
Both sides agreed to enhance coordination in preparing for the upcoming Francophone Summit in Cambodia, viewing it as an important opportunity to continue strengthening solidarity within the Francophone Community, promoting peace, sustainable development, and creating new momentum for Francophone cooperation in the region.
The working visit of Francophonie Secretary-General Louise Mushikiwabo to Vietnam is part of her regional mission to prepare for the 20th Francophonie Summit scheduled for November 2026 in Cambodia.
