Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong meets with South Sudan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

Also present at the meeting were South Sudan's Ambassador to Egypt, Kuol Nyok Kuol Arop, and other South Sudanese diplomatic officials.
During the meeting, Minister Monday Semaya Kumba congratulated Vietnam on the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress and congratulated Ambassador Nguyễn Nam Dương on his appointment as the non-resident Ambassador of Vietnam to South Sudan.
The Minister affirmed that Vietnam is one of the foremost countries in South Sudan's current foreign policy, appreciating Vietnam as one of the first nations to recognize South Sudan's independence and support its admission to the United Nations.

Notably, since 2014, Vietnam has deployed forces to participate in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), which has been highly appreciated by UN member states, the South Sudanese Government, and local citizens.
Regarding bilateral cooperation, Minister Monday Semaya Kumba proposed enhancing relations in areas such as economic-trade, agriculture, education-training, oil and gas, information technology, and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed a desire to increase delegation exchanges at all levels and support each other at the United Nations and other multilateral forums. The Minister also expressed his wish to visit Vietnam soon.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong informed Minister Monday Semaya Kumba about the outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress and Vietnam's socio-economic achievements after 40 years of Renovation.
The Ambassador expressed a desire to closely coordinate with South Sudan to boost economic, trade, and investment cooperation, aiming to develop bilateral relations in a practical and effective manner in the near future.
