Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs to pay an official visit to Vietnam

At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Le Hoai Trung, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Paulo Rangel will pay an official visit to Vietnam from 27 February to 01 March 2026.

Vietnam and Portugal officially established diplomatic relations on July 1, 1975.

Over the past 50 years, the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Portugal has been consistently strengthened and enhanced.

Vietnam places great importance on its comprehensive partnership and cooperation with the European Union (EU) and its member states, including Portugal. Meanwhile, Portugal regards Vietnam as a key market in Southeast Asia.

Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro on the sidelines of the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) in Nice, France, on June 9, 2025.
