Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung receives outgoing Saudi Arabian Ambassador Mohammed Ismaeil A.Dahlwy
WVR - On the afternoon of December 31, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung met with Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Vietnam Mohammed Ismaeil A.Dahlwy as he concluded his term.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung praised Ambassador M. Dahlwy's contributions to advancing bilateral relations, particularly following Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính's visits to Saudi Arabia in 2023 and 2024. The Minister acknowledged the Ambassador's efforts in organizing significant events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-Saudi Arabia diplomatic relations (1999-2024), promoting the establishment of the Saudi Arabia-Vietnam Business Council, and facilitating numerous visits by Saudi Arabian ministries, sectors, and enterprises to Vietnam, thereby enhancing the image and cooperation opportunities of Saudi Arabia to the Vietnamese people.
On this occasion, Minister Le Hoai Trung reiterated the high-level commitments of both nations to continue promoting high-level and other exchanges, and to explore upgrading bilateral relations to a new framework that aligns with the status and potential of both countries. He emphasized the need to complete legal frameworks to facilitate bilateral cooperation and promote large-scale Saudi Arabian investment projects in Vietnam.
The Foreign Minister highlighted Vietnam's appreciation for Saudi Arabia's regional and global role and expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia at international and regional forums, especially through frameworks like the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and ASEAN. He affirmed Vietnam's willingness to work with Saudi Arabia to responsibly contribute to common issues for the benefit of both nations' peoples and for peace and stability in both regions and the world.

Ambassador M. Dahlwy expressed his sincere gratitude to Vietnamese leaders and agencies for their support in helping him fulfill his duties. He emphasized that the King, Crown Prince, and senior leaders of Saudi Arabia highly value and wish to sustainably develop the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries.
Expressing admiration and appreciation for Vietnam's foreign policy, Ambassador M. Dahlwy affirmed that Vietnam and Saudi Arabia share many similarities in their national development goals. He confirmed Saudi Arabia's support for Vietnam's enhanced cooperation with the GCC and pledged to continue promoting negotiations for a Vietnam-GCC FTA at the earliest opportunity. The Ambassador noted that both countries are collaborating effectively in multilateral forums and praised Vietnam's role in promoting peace and stability in the region and contributing responsibly to global issues.
Ambassador M. Dahlwy assured that in his new role, he would continue to encourage relevant agencies to closely coordinate with Vietnam to foster substantive and effective bilateral relations, particularly in implementing high-level commitments and elevating the relationship to match each side's potential and strengths.
The Ambassador wished Vietnam continued success in its efforts to build a prosperous and strong nation, contributing to regional and global peace and stability.
