At WeRide, the Vietnamese media-scholars delegation experienced a 13-minute ride in a driverless car, which can autonomously navigate, stop at red lights or obstacles, proceed when the light turns green, and immediately stop if passengers unbuckle their seatbelts.
To date, WeRide has obtained licenses to operate self-driving cars in eight countries, including China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, France, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, and Switzerland.
WeRide's main product lines include self-driving taxis, self-driving minibuses, self-driving freight vehicles, self-driving environmental sanitation vehicles, and advanced intelligent driving assistance systems.
Sharing his personal experience, Le Gia Hoang, a cameraman from Vietnam Television (VTV), said: “This is my first time experiencing a self-driving car in China. I found these cars to operate very smoothly and intelligently, adjusting speed according to traffic conditions and the pre-programmed route. For me, it was a wonderful and exciting experience.”
