Exhibition: 80 Years of the Vietnamese National Assembly accompanying the nation
WVR - On January 4, information from the Vietnam Cultural and Arts Exhibition Center, under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism revealed that on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the first General Election for the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Office of the National Assembly and the Ministry of Home Affairs, is organizing the exhibition "80 Years of the Vietnamese National Assembly Accompanying the Nation".

The exhibition will take place at the National Assembly House on the morning of January 6, as part of the 80th Anniversary of the First General Election for the Vietnamese National Assembly.
On January 6, 1946, responding to the call of President Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnamese citizens aged 18 and over from all regions of the country, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, or social status, eagerly participated in the first General Election for the Vietnamese National Assembly.
The success of the General Election marked a brilliant milestone in the nation's history, ushering in a new era of development for the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).
Throughout the past 80 years, the Vietnamese National Assembly has remained closely connected with the people, accompanying the nation through various revolutionary stages.
Over each historical period, the National Assembly has continuously been strengthened and innovated in its organization and operational methods, enhancing its role as a legislative body, deciding on important national issues, and exercising supreme oversight over all State activities, significantly contributing to the building, protection, and development of the country.
The exhibition "80 Years of the Vietnamese National Assembly Accompanying the Nation" vividly recreates the 80-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnamese National Assembly through a system of images, documents, and representative artifacts, arranged in historical progression, from the Tân Trào National Congress, the precursor of the Vietnamese National Assembly, to the National Assembly in its current phase.
Each National Assembly term is a significant milestone, associated with foundational laws and historical decisions of the country, from the resistance period with the spirit of “nation above all” to the era of peace, unification, renovation, and international integration.
This highlights the comprehensive growth and development of the Vietnamese National Assembly, becoming increasingly professional, democratic, transparent, and effective; affirming the central role and position of the National Assembly in the political system, serving as a strong bridge between the Party, the State, and the people.
Through the exhibition, the Organizing Committee aims to contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism, igniting national pride, and strengthening faith in the country's development path under the Party's leadership; widely propagating to voters and the people, especially the younger generation, about the mission of the National Assembly, the highest state power body of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the highest representative body of the people in the cause of building a civilized, prosperous, and happy Vietnam.
At the same time, it reflects on the glorious journey, cherishing the historical values forged over the periods, looking towards the future, contributing to building a Vietnamese National Assembly that is increasingly modern, effective, and efficient, worthy of the trust and expectations of the people and the development requirements of the country in the new era.
