On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep reviewed Vietnam's outstanding achievements in 2025, the final year of implementing the 13th Party Congress Resolution, amidst complex global and regional developments. Vietnam continued to maintain political stability, ensure national defense and security, and promote impressive economic growth; GDP was estimated at about 514 billion USD, with per capita GDP surpassing 5,000 USD, placing Vietnam among upper-middle-income countries.

The Ambassador also highlighted the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a significant political event guiding the country's development from 2026 to 2030 and with a vision towards 2045.

The Congress set the goal of building Vietnam into a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income, progressing towards becoming a developed, high-income nation; while adopting orientations for innovation, sustainable development, and improving people's living standards, reflecting the country's strong development aspirations.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Congress continues to affirm the role of overseas Vietnamese as an inseparable part of the Vietnamese national community, serving as an important resource contributing to national construction and development.

Regarding bilateral relations, the Ambassador stated that Vietnam-Qatar relations in 2025 continued to develop positively across various fields. Bilateral trade turnover reached approximately 735 million USD; many major Vietnamese enterprises have increased engagement, seeking cooperation opportunities in Qatar. Both sides also agreed to explore the possibility of upgrading bilateral relations to a more comprehensive and effective cooperation framework in the near future.

Praising the role and practical contributions of the Vietnamese community in Qatar, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep affirmed that the community has upheld the tradition of solidarity, mutual support, actively participating in activities towards the homeland, including supporting compatriots affected by natural disasters in the country. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the community will continue to be an important bridge between the two countries and accompany the Embassy in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese people in Qatar.

The Homeland Spring program took place in a warm, solemn atmosphere, rich in national identity, with traditional Tet dishes and friendly gatherings and conversations among compatriots.

Many expatriates shared that although they are far from the homeland, when gathering under the common roof of the community, hearing New Year wishes from the Ambassador, and enjoying the flavors of the homeland, they feel more than ever the sacred bond with the motherland.

Some compatriots emotionally stated that the program not only brought a warm Tet atmosphere to the heart of Doha but also provided them with faith and motivation to continue working, studying, contributing to the local society, and always aiming to build a more developed Vietnam.
