Dien Bien: Successful completion of Great Solidarity Houses for 5,000 needy families

On March 28, the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, alongside the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, marked the successful completion of Project 09. Launched on April 25, 2023, this project mobilized resources for constructing Great Solidarity Houses in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, encapsulated by the theme "Millions of loving hearts - Thousands of happy homes."
Prominent attendees included Politburo member, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Truong Thi Mai; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha along with representatives of leaders of central ministries and branches.
The meeting acknowledged the allocation of 250 billion VND, which facilitated the construction of 5,000 houses. By January 24, 2024, these homes, including a mix of 1,818 brick, 1,894 traditional wooden, and 1,288 metal-frame constructions, were completed, each exceeding the minimum quality standard of 36m2. The total investment for these homes reached 489.4 billion VND, with Project 09 contributing 250 billion VND.

The contributions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and Dien Bien leadership were recognized for their roles in galvanizing nationwide support. Standing Member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai lauded the program as a heartfelt act of remembrance and support to the ethnic groups in the historical heartland of Dien Bien Phu.
The completion of the Great Solidarity Houses within nine months was highlighted as a significant achievement. In recognition, Dien Bien's People's Committee awarded Medals for the Cause of Building and Developing Dien Bien Province to 15 individuals, and commendations to 39 collectives and 31 individuals for outstanding implementation of Project 09. Furthermore, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee presented commemorative medals to Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong, along with commendations to 19 collectives and individuals for exceptional achievements in Project 09.
