During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Son warmly congratulated China on successfully organizing the 4th Plenum of the 20th Central Committee (October 20-23), which set forth important strategic directions for the 15th Five-Year Plan, laying a crucial foundation for China to continue its high-quality development in the coming period.

Praising Ambassador He Wei and the Chinese Embassy for their efforts in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that both sides will continue to coordinate effectively in high-level diplomatic activities, successfully organize the 17th session of the Vietnam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation to review cooperation, and agree on directions and measures to effectively implement the common understanding between the leaders of the two Parties and countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Son urged both sides to prioritize railway cooperation, ensuring the commencement of the Lao Cai-Ha Noi-Hai Phong line construction in 2025; to promptly sign a protocol to open the market for Vietnamese agricultural products, expand the smart border gate model, promote power linkage cooperation, make substantial progress in science and technology cooperation, enhance local cooperation, and effectively implement people-to-people exchange activities.

The Deputy Prime Minister also urged both sides to strictly implement the high-level common understanding on better managing and resolving disagreements, and appropriately addressing maritime issues in accordance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982.

Agreeing with Deputy Prime Minister Son's directives, Ambassador He Wei stated that 2025 marks a significant development in China-Vietnam relations, especially following mutual visits between the General Secretaries and key leaders of the two Parties and countries.

Additionally, both sides have organized numerous enriching and practical exchange activities, with strong economic and trade cooperation continuously setting new records.

Ambassador He Wei affirmed efforts to coordinate and organize high-level and other exchanges effectively, especially the 17th session of the Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation.

Furthermore, he emphasized promoting substantial cooperation between the two countries to yield fruitful outcomes for the session, contributing to building a China-Vietnam Community with a shared future of strategic significance , developing deeply and effectively, and bringing tangible benefits to the people of both nations.
