At the reception, Deputy FM Nguyen Minh Vu welcomed Mr. Wang Yubo on his first working visit to Vietnam as Deputy Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee. The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his confidence that the trip would produce great results.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu congratulated Yunnan’s achievements on socio-economic developments in recent years, which has improved the people’s livelihood. He believed that, under the leadership of the Party Committee, provincial authority, and people from all ethnic groups in Yunnan province would continue to obtain remarkable achievements in the future.

Both sides agreed that, with the growth of bilateral relations, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam's Ministries, departments and localities with Yunnan province over the past years have made positive progress, particularly in economy, tourism, agriculture, culture, education, and people-to-people exchange. This cooperation has brought about a great deal of concrete benefits to both countries’ peoples, conducive to the stable and sustainable Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative partnership.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu and Deputy Secretary Wang Yubo concurred that, in order to strengthen cooperation and maximize its potentials in the future, the localities of Vietnam and Yunnan should continue to exchange delegations, effectively implement the agreements and common understandings reached by both countries’ high-level leaders. To this end, it is necessary to turn the exchange between both sides’ departments and agencies into an annual mechanism, and establish regular meeting mechanism between Vietnamese localities’ leaders and Yunnan province.

Furthermore, both sides need to expand cooperation and exchange in other areas, continue to bolster cooperation in border management to build the Vietnam-China border into a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development. Deputy Secretary Wang Yubo expressed his gratitude to Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu for spending time to welcome his delegation. He affirmed that in recent years, Yunnan provinces and Vietnamese localities have conducted many cooperation activities in areas of both sides’ advantages and potentials, contributing to boosting two-way trade turnover.

Mr. Wang Yubo believed that, his first working trip to Vietnam as Deputy Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee not only fostered the friendship and cooperation between the localities of Vietnam and Yunnan, but also further promote the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partnership. He assured that, in the near future, Yunnan would continue to cooperate with Vietnamese localities.
