Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang receives Brazilian Ambassador

On June 30, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang received Ambassador of Brazil to Vietnam Marco Farani.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations and preparations for the upcoming participation of a high-level Vietnamese delegation in the expanded BRICS Summit, scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 6 to 7.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated the Ambassador’s efforts in promoting bilateral ties, particularly his contributions to the success of Brazilian President Lula da Silva’s official visit to Vietnam in March 2025.

She expressed confidence that high-level visits and exchanges would serve as a strong impetus for deepening the substantive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Marco Farani emphasized that Brazil warmly welcomes Vietnam’s participation as a BRICS partner country and believes the Vietnamese high-level delegation will make meaningful contributions to the success of the upcoming Summit.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Brazil’s commitment to working closely with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement the outcomes and high-level agreements reached during recent bilateral visits and exchanges between the two countries’ leaders.

BRICS is currently composed of 11 countries namely Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Iran.

Vietnam is the 10th BRICS partner country, alongside Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda and Uzbekistan.

The 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro will be chaired by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, under the motto “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance”.
