On September 24, as part of the activities during the visit to Oman, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang, along with Oman's Deputy Foreign Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy, co-chaired the 4th Vietnam-Oman Political Consultation and met with Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion.

In a spirit of sincerity, openness, and trust, during the Political Consultation, both sides reviewed the implementation, coordination, and results achieved since the 3rd session; exchanged extensive views on measures to enhance relations between the two Foreign Ministries, contributing to ushering Vietnam-Oman relations into a new phase of development.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam values its multifaceted friendship and cooperation with Oman, expressing confidence that Oman will continue to develop robustly, successfully implementing the “Oman Vision 2040”.

Appreciating Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, Deputy Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy emphasized that the two countries share many similarities, from natural conditions and people to aspirations for rapid and sustainable national development, contributing to regional and international peace.

The two Deputy Foreign Ministers noted that the two countries have many similarities, complementary economic sectors, and significant potential to develop multifaceted cooperation on par with high political trust and based on the successful foundations of the Vietnam-Oman Investment Fund and the New Era Growth Fund.

Both sides agreed to promote exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level leaders; increase bilateral trade turnover, and boost investment cooperation in areas such as food security, fisheries cooperation, logistics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy..., while organizing cultural introduction activities and enhancing people-to-people exchanges between the two sides.

They also agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at multilateral, international, and regional forums, especially within the framework of the United Nations, ASEAN-GCC cooperation mechanisms...

Introducing Vietnam's policies in the new development era, especially institutional innovations and the development of international financial centers, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang called on Oman to introduce and encourage investors to explore and invest in technology infrastructure projects as well as the International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang requested Oman to support Vietnam in developing the Hala industry, provide scholarships for Vietnamese students to study in Oman, and act as a bridge to promote Vietnam-GCC relations, including negotiating and signing the Vietnam-GCC Free Trade Agreement this year.

Sharing the current complex and unpredictable international context, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy reaffirmed that Vietnam, a dynamic economy with stable politics, rapid growth, and many prospects in the Asia-Pacific, is an important partner in Oman's Eastward policy.

Deputy Foreign Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy affirmed that he would facilitate Vietnamese businesses to invest and export goods to Oman and through Oman to access Middle Eastern, African, and Oman's extensive partner markets. Deputy Foreign Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy expressed readiness to support the Vietnam-GCC FTA.

Highlighting Vietnam as an attractive tourism market for Omani tourists, the Omani Deputy Foreign Minister suggested both sides facilitate people-to-people exchanges, study the opening of permanent representative offices, and establish direct flights between the two countries.

Exchanging views on the global and regional situation, both sides affirmed the importance of multilateralism, international cooperation, and resolving disputes by peaceful means in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.

During the meeting with Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Vietnam-Oman Joint Committee, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang proposed that both sides soon organize the 4th session of the Joint Committee between the two countries, negotiate and sign important agreements for bilateral cooperation; support the early initiation of Vietnam-GCC FTA negotiations, assist Vietnam in developing the Halal industry, and facilitate Vietnamese products entering the Omani market.

Appreciating Vietnam's strong development in recent times, Minister Qais Mohammed Al Yousef affirmed that the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman consistently supports the deepening of multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

Minister Qais Mohammed Al Yousef proposed that both sides should soon organize activities to connect the business communities of the two countries and sign economic, trade, and investment cooperation agreements.

On this occasion, Minister Qais Mohammed Al Yousef also extended congratulations on Vietnam's National Day and shared condolences for the losses Vietnam has suffered due to recent natural disasters and storms.
