Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed gratitude to the Korean Government for partnering with Vietnam to successfully organize the 13th Mekong-Korea Business Forum on September 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, which saw the participation of numerous Korean and Mekong sub-region businesses. She expressed hope that Republic of Korea will continue to play an active role in the sub-region and work with Vietnam to soon develop and implement the Mekong-Korea Action Plan for 2026-2030.
The Deputy Foreign Minister highly valued the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, as evidenced by the very successful visit of General Secretary To Lam to Republic of Korea, which yielded significant outcomes in economic cooperation, labor, and people-to-people exchanges. She also appreciated the investment and business activities of major Korean corporations, which have positively contributed to Vietnam's economic growth and the development of bilateral relations.
The Deputy Foreign Minister congratulated Republic of Korea on its successful role as APEC 2025 chair so far and expressed hope for close coordination between the two countries in preparing for the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in November 2025, as well as for APEC 2027 in Vietnam.
For his part, Mr. Kim Hee Sang shared with Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang the importance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries and the historical significance of General Secretary To Lam's visit to Republic of Korea. He was impressed with the organization and successful outcomes of the 13th Mekong-Korea Business Forum and stated that Republic of Korea is committed to continuing close cooperation with Vietnam to promote Mekong cooperation and the Mekong-Korea cooperation mechanism in the future.
Mr. Kim Hee Sang also thanked Vietnam for its cooperation during the APEC 2025 chairmanship year and affirmed that Republich of Korea will accompany and support Vietnam in its role as APEC 2027 chair.
