Under the new arrangement, the MoPS will oversee 10 administrative procedures spanning three public services. These include issuing, reissuing, renewing, amending, and supplementing business permits for cybersecurity products and services; managing import permits for cybersecurity products; and issuing certificates for domain names.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long highlighted the significance of this transfer, calling it a crucial Government decision designed to ensure a centralised and unified approach to cybersecurity governance, thus improving the effectiveness of national security protection in cyberspace.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Pham The Tung suggested the MIC - soon to be merged with the Ministry of Science and Technology - continue working closely with the MoPS on political and ideological work, while ensuring proper policies for officials, civil servants, and contract employees affected by this restructuring.
