The Government chief made the above statement at a meeting on COVID-19 response on Monday afternoon.

All COVID-19 outbreaks with clear infection sources have been controlled and no new outbreaks with unclear infection sources have been found, PM Pham added.

The Government chief, however, stressed that the risk remains high if vigilance is not sustained.

He urged the entire political system and people to take more swift, comprehensive and drastic measures to contain the pandemic and boost economic recovery.

PM Pham also ordered plans for COVID-19 prevention and control at industrial parks as well as mechanisms and policies to rally support and contributions from citizens and businesses in the fight against the pandemic, including financial resources for purchasing medical supplies and vaccines.

All subordinate levels must stay active, proactive and calm in evaluating the pandemic situation in order to adopt appropriate responses, Pham reminded.

Viet Nam is experiencing the fourth wave of local transmissions with 1,320 domestic cases confirmed in 27 cities and provinces since April 27, bringing the national caseload to 4,359.

The national tally includes 2,668 recoveries and 35 fatalities, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.
