India is a country with a long history, the birthplace of many major religions, especially Buddhism, and possesses many unique cultural heritages revered worldwide.

In recent years, the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and India has been continuously strengthened and developed on the foundation of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Tourism is one of the most deeply connected fields, as each trip not only signifies exploration but also serves as a bridge of friendship, helping the people of the two countries understand and come closer to each other.

According to Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy, Vietnam is known as a leading tourist destination in Southeast Asia, offering a rich portfolio of products: from luxury beach resorts, MICE tourism, weddings, to cultural and spiritual journeys linked to Buddhism, scenic spots, and film location development suitable for the diverse needs of international tourists, including Indian visitors.

Vietnam has been creating many favorable conditions for Indian tourists: quick e-visa procedures, a stay duration of up to 90 days, valid for single or multiple entries; an expanding airline network directly connecting major cities of India and Vietnam.

“I believe that with the attention of the governments of both countries, the assistance of the Vietnamese Embassy in India, the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, along with the support of management agencies and business community efforts, tourism will become one of the most prominent areas of cooperation in the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” emphasized Mr. Pham Van Thuy.

Also at the program, representatives of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism presented an overview of Vietnam's tourism. As an open, innovative, and deeply integrated country, Vietnam is increasingly perfecting its visa policies to facilitate international tourists.

Vietnam has waived visas for citizens of 39 countries. Recently, following Government Decree No. 221/2025 effective from August 15, 2025, Vietnam will issue visa exemption cards for up to 5 years for scholars, experts, scientists, high-quality digital technology personnel, investors, leaders of large corporations, and individuals with a positive impact on Vietnam for long-term work and residence.

Besides introducing destinations, tourism products, and services of Vietnam, the program also updated policies aimed at developing tourism in the Indian market.

The event also created a space for business networking activities between tourism companies and hotels from Vietnam and India, opening up effective business cooperation opportunities.
