The World & Vietnam Report, India Research Centre sign MOU to enhance effectiveness of foreign affairs communication

WVR - On August 20, in Hanoi, The World & Vietnam Report under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Center for India Studies (CIS) under the Institute of Politics and International Relations, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on communication to enhance the effectiveness of foreign affairs.

The signing ceremony is part of a plan to expand the partnership network of The World & Vietnam Report, marking a practical activity towards the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

Over the past two years, following the policy to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international media agencies, The World & Vietnam Report has signed cooperation agreements with media outlets such as Bao Thai Nguyen, Korea Times (Republic of Korea), Zougla (Greece), Colombo Times (Sri Lanka)… Continuing to expand cooperation with training and research institutions to serve professional work, The World & Vietnam Report has been collaborating with agencies of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Academy of Journalism and Communication... to exchange information, conduct research, invite speakers for talk shows and seminars… contributing to enhancing the depth of journalistic products and spreading research values into practical social life.

Recently, the newspaper coordinated with the Faculty of International Relations, Academy of Journalism and Communication, to organize the seminar "Diplomacy and Gen Z – Bridging Generations, Spreading the Image of Vietnam" – a forum connecting diplomats, experts, lecturers, and students, contributing to enriching awareness, skills, and aspirations to contribute to the young generation for the Foreign Affairs sector and the country.

The Center for Indian Studies, under the Institute of Politics and International Relations (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics), was established on September 15, 2014, witnessed by President Truong Tan Sang and Indian President Pranab Mukherjee. It is a specialized research unit focusing on India's political, socio-economic, cultural, educational, religious, ethnic, national security, and foreign relations fields.

Establishing an official cooperation mechanism between a leading foreign affairs media agency and a specialized research institution on India holds practical significance. It not only enhances the effectiveness of foreign affairs communication but also facilitates academic dialogue, deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India.

According to Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding opens up prospects for broader cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' media agency and a specialized research institution on one of Vietnam's 13 Comprehensive Strategic Partners. Accordingly, the two sides will closely collaborate in various fields such as sharing information and research data; organizing seminars and thematic discussions; developing research and media publications; exchanging delegations and connecting expert networks; as well as enhancing coordination in promoting Vietnam's image and foreign policies in general, and Vietnam-India relations in particular.

Deputy Director of the Institute of Politics and International Relations, Director of the India Research Centre, Dr. Bui Viet Huong, expects that cooperation with The World & Vietnam Report will be an "extended arm" for the India Research Centre's effective foreign information dissemination, contributing to spreading important reference materials, helping the public gain a deeper, more comprehensive, and updated understanding of issues related to the world's most populous country, one of the world's five largest economies.

After the signing, the two sides will soon implement specific cooperation, initially coordinating to organize an international seminar on digital transformation cooperation between Vietnam and India, scheduled for next month.

This is the first Memorandum of Understanding between The World & Vietnam Report and a specialized research institution, and also the first agreement between the India Research Centre and a media agency of a ministry. The new cooperation framework lays the foundation for both sides to leverage their strengths in research, media, and foreign affairs, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of foreign affairs work and promoting Vietnam's image amid increasingly deep international integration.
