Dear Comrades,

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the National Boundary Commission (October 6, 1975 – October 6, 2025), on behalf of the Party Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs leadership, I warmly extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all officials, civil servants, and workers of the National Boundary Commission throughout the years.

Shortly after the country’s reunification, on October 6, 1975, the Frontier Committee of the Government Council was officially established. This was a historic decision, reflecting the strategic vision and close attention of our Party and State to territorial and boundary affairs.

Over the past half-century, the journey has been challenging yet immensely proud and glorious for the National Border Committee. Upholding the tradition of solidarity and resilience, the Committee has excellently fulfilled the tasks entrusted by the Party and State, actively contributing to the delimitation and demarcation of land boundary, as well as maritime delimitation, firmly safeguarding the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, and building a border of peace, stability, and development between Vietnam and its neighbouring countries. On behalf of the Party Committee and the Ministry leadership, I acknowledge and commend the outstanding achievements of the generations of officials, civil servants, and workers of the National Boundary Commission over the past 50 years.

Entering a new era, the era of national advancement, amidst a highly complex global and regional situation with intertwined opportunities and challenges, border works has gained unprecedented importance.

I urge the National Border Committee to continue promoting its glorious tradition, unity, courage, and loyalty, prioritising national interests above all; continuously innovate, enhance capacity and work efficiency, and focus on effectively implementing key tasks entrusted by the Party and State. In border and territorial work, it is essential to remain principled, flexible in strategy, creative in implementation, seize opportunities, and promote early, decisive, and sustainable resolutions to outstanding issues with neighbouring countries, and adequately address arising issues.

Additionally, it is crucial to excel in strategic research and forecasting, proactively grasp and accurately predict regional and global situations, especially issues related to borders and islands, promptly advising the Party and State on appropriate policies; effectively manage and develop the socio-economic aspects of border areas, using development cooperation to stabilise relations with neighbouring countries, thereby enhancing political trust, expanding friendly exchanges, and economic cooperation in border regions; strengthen information and communication efforts on borders and territories both domestically and internationally, leveraging the great unity of the entire nation, combining national strength with the strength of the era.

The National Boundary Commission should pay more attention to building a team of highly qualified, politically steadfast, and dedicated officials and civil servants, meeting the increasingly demanding requirements of tasks in the new situation.

Wishing the National Boundary Commission continued success, making even greater contributions to the cause of building and firmly defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, leading our country into a new era – an era of prosperity and powerful development for the Vietnamese nation.

Wishing all comrades and their families health, happiness, and success.

Sincerely,

Le Hoai Trung,

Party Central Committee Secretary, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs
