During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong highly appreciated the active coordination of the Ambassador and the Indian Embassy in Vietnam in organizing recent high-level diplomatic activities, particularly the State visit to India by General Secretary and President To Lam in May 2026.

Additionally, the Deputy Minister thanked the Ambassador and the Ministry of External Affairs of India for facilitating the visit to India and participation in the BRICS Summit by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung (September 12-13, 2026), as well as promoting the organization of the 19th Ministerial-level Joint Committee on Bilateral Cooperation.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his delight at the excellent development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India, which is becoming increasingly substantive and effective across various fields. Notably, both sides have closely coordinated in implementing high-level agreements, achieving comprehensive results during General Secretary and President To Lam's visit to India.

The Deputy Minister proposed that both sides continue to concretize commitments and agreements into practical cooperation programs and projects in areas such as defense and security, trade and investment, science and technology, education and training, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Tshering Sherpa appreciated Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong's remarks and expressed readiness to collaborate in effectively implementing cooperation fields.

Both sides exchanged views on upcoming high-level diplomatic activities and preparations for the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027. They agreed to promote exchanges of delegations at all levels and channels, organize specialized cooperation subcommittees in various fields, including Political Consultations and Strategic Dialogues between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and make science and technology cooperation a key pillar of bilateral relations by establishing deeper connections in science, technology, and innovation between the two countries.

Both sides highly valued the close coordination between Vietnam and India in regional and international forums, especially within the frameworks of ASEAN, ADMM, BRICS, and the United Nations. Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized Vietnam's support for India's role as BRICS host in 2026.
