The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting warned the cold spell would last for 2-3 days.
The centre also said due to the cold spell, showers were forecast to hit Hanoi and the north region from December 11. At the same time, torrential rain with thunderstorms would continue to hit central provinces from Thanh Hoa to Binh Dinh.
The cold spell would cause rough seas in the northern part of the East Sea, including Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, the centre said.
