At the working session.

Over the past three years, bilateral aviation cooperation has improved Vietnam’s capacity for designing, operating and managing infrastructure; as well as for aviation safety and security; and aircraft repair and maintenance.  Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Thi Hoa lauded the host nation as a trustworthy and prestigious partner which is always ready to transfer technology to Vietnam.  She suggested that the CAAV consider opening direct flights between the two countries, considering rising travel and transport demand of their business people and citizens.  Hao said in the near future, the CAAV will focus on the Tan Son Nhat airport upgrade and expansion, the Long Thanh airport construction, and the master plan for Noi Bai international airport.  He hoped that Dutch firms would continue working with Vietnam to launch the above projects.  The official asked the embassy to serve as a bridge to step up aviation linkage by urging the Netherlands to expand the cooperation programme and send experts to Vietnam to assist the country in personnel training.  As part of the trip from March 4-8, the delegation will hold working sessions with the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Schiphol airport, NACO Airport Consultancy and Engineering Company, and the Aviation Academy under the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
