The signing ceremony took place on the campus of CIS Lao Cai, with the attendance of representatives from the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai Province, the Lao Cai Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Board of Directors and School Leadership, representatives from Ultra Education, teachers, students, and leaders from several public schools across the province.

Through this partnership, CIS Lao Cai and Ultra Education collaboratively develop and implement a business and entrepreneurship curriculum for students from Grades 1 to 12. Based on Ultra Education’s existing resources and the specific needs of CIS Lao Cai, the curriculum will be localized to align with Vietnam’s cultural and educational context.

Additionally, Ultra Education provide professional training for CIS Lao Cai teachers and offer ongoing online support. The organization will also work closely with the school to host events and activities that foster entrepreneurial spirit among students.

The Business and Entrepreneurship Program at CIS Lao Cai will be designed to run over two semesters (30–34 weeks per level). Starting from the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, CIS Lao Cai students will begin participating in this program.

Furthermore, CIS Lao Cai and Ultra Education will offer short-term courses (10–12 weeks) through the school’s After School Academy (ASA) to equip external students with fundamental business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.

As part of the partnership, the two institutions will jointly organize the Children’s Business Fair in early November 2025 at CIS Lao Cai. This will be Vietnam’s first practical platform dedicated to school-aged students, enabling them to apply business knowledge and present their products and startup ideas to the wider community.

Ultra Education is a social enterprise based in the United Kingdom, founded in 2014, specializing in entrepreneurship education. Each year, Ultra Education provides their service to approximately 5,000 children, youth, and families across the UK through various business and entrepreneurship programs. It also hosts the largest kids’ business fairs in Europe, held bi-annually, and organized the first youth entrepreneurship awards in November 2017.

In Vietnam, CIS Lao Cai is Ultra Education’s first official partner to implement the curriculum and provide entrepreneurship teacher training for K–12 education.

Founded in August 2022, the Canadian International School Lao Cai is the first internationally school in Lao Cai Province and the broader Northwest region. The school is now preparing for its fourth academic year, with over VND 700 billion in investment, including a newly completed high-end boarding facility capable of hosting over 300 students aged 11–18.

The school offers a bilingual program combining the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training’s curriculum with the Oxford International Curriculum (UK), spanning Grades 1 through 12. At the secondary level, students may choose between two academic tracks: the British Academic Qualifications (IGCSE, AS/A-Level) or the Vietnamese High School Diploma.

CIS Lao Cai is currently in the process of joining the Council of International Schools (CIS) and aligning its boarding school model with the standards of the UK’s Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA).

The founders of CIS Lao Cai are also the original founders of the Canadian International School system in Ho Chi Minh City, established in 2009.
