AWCH to visit Bac Giang province and experience local specialities

This was a regular event in the series of the AWCH’s activities to experience cultures of ASEAN countries.
To participate in the activity there were Honorable President of AWCH and Foreign Minister’s spouse Vu Thi Bich Ngoc; President of AWCH and Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung’s spouse Tran Thi Bich Van; spouses of Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ senior leaders, along with members of AWCH and partners, spouses of recently appointed Ambassadors of Viet Nam.
From the province, to receive the delegation there were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nghiem Xuan Huong, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Ngo Bien Cuong, representatives of provincial units, leaders of the People's Committees of Luc Ngan and Viet Yen districts.
At a garden of pomelo in Luc Ngan, the delegation was briefly introduced by the Chairman of the District People's Committee La Van Nam about local agricultural production as well as the method of planting and taking care of pomelo trees.

According Mr. La Van Nam, during the past time, the district has had a number of high quality fruits with strong competitiveness that can gradually assert its position and brand in both domestic and foreign markets.
“We localities could not promote our potentials and strengths to domestic and foreign enterprises without the support from and connections with Viet Nam’s representative missions abroad”, said Mr. La Van Nam.
That was the reason why the image of Luc Ngan with the famous lychee fruits can reach more and more international friends, he said.
The Chairman of the Luc Ngan People's Committee expressed his hope that Vietnamese diplomats and foreign friends will continue to promote the culture, potential, strengths as well as typical products of Bac Giang in general and of Luc Ngan in particular to tourists, investors, domestic and foreign enterprises.
On behalf of the delegation, the Honorable President of AWCH and Foreign Minister’s spouse Vu Thi Bich Ngoc said that Bac Giang is a land rich in tradition, imbued with the typical cultural identity of the northern provinces, with many famous historical sites, owning 18 ancient Quan Ho and Ca Tru villages that have been honored by UNESCO as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and many other interesting things about the culture and people. Bac Giang is also one of the fast-growing and the most modern provinces of Viet Nam.

Vu Thi Bich Ngoc expressed her impression of the vitality and potential of the province. She believed that, with those potentials and the determination and drastic activities of leaders of Bac Giang province as well as Luc Ngan district, the pace of economic and social development of the localities will be maintained with strong impetus.
She also expressed her hope that, through the visit, the delegation will learn more about traditional culture and especially the strengths and potentials of socio-economic development of the localities.

“I hope that today's trip is just the beginning and that the members of the delegation will have the opportunity to return to this land to discover and experience the unique culture of this place as well as promote opportunities for cooperation, cultural exchange, trade and investment promotion, to help Bac Giang province connect with countries in the region and over the world”, said AWCH Honorary President Vu Thi Bich Ngoc.
After Luc Ngan District, the delegation visited some family enterprises producing rice paper in Van village, Viet Yen district; enjoyed quan ho and ca tru performances, local cuisine and experienced making phoenix wings from betel leaves, wearing costumes of quan ho ‘brothers and sisters’, etc.

According to Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nghiem Xuan Huong, 2021 is a particularly difficult year for Bac Giang province.
However, thanks to the assistance and support from ministries, sectors and central agencies, the determination of local authorities and people, Bac Giang has completed the dual goals of fighting against COVID-19 as well as promoting economic and social development.

Huong hoped that the delegation will help introduce, promote and connect to promote consumption of key agricultural products as well as handicraft products of the province, bringing about new opportunities of cooperation in the future.
On her part, Honorary President of the AWCH Group Vu Thi Bich Ngoc expressed gratitude to the leaders of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the two districts of Luc Ngan and Viet Yen for warmly welcoming and receiving the delegation, supporting the delegation to carry out charity activities, connect cultural, economic and tourism exchanges in the coming time, contributing to promoting the image and cultural identity of the locality to people throughout the country and international friends.

Ngoc believed that, through the visit, each member of the delegation will understand more about Bac Giang - a land of rich nature, the "fruit capital of the North" and the cradle of many traditional craft villages.
“Especially in Viet Yen district, I am sure this land will continue to attract visitors to craft villages of making bamboo and rattan products, wine, rice papers, and the Kinh Bac Quan ho tunes”, she said.
